McCarthy Hall

McCarthy Hall

"McCarthy Hall houses professor's offices and classrooms for majors in Education and Art. The Art Department has a gallery located on the third floor and also has excellent equipment for ceramics, drawing, and printmaking.

McCarthy Hall also has an Aquatic Macroinvertabrate Lab located on McCarthy's first floor and is part of the Rhode's Science Center Lab.

Also found in McCarthy are the offices of Corporate Adventures. Corporate Adventures provides numerous team-building and professional development opportunities for businesses and organizations and also conducts a high-ropes course that all of our freshmen have the opportunity to participate in during opening activities in the fall.

McCarthy Hall was originally the home of the College Training School -- a fully functional school that gave VCSU students an opportunity to gain teaching experience (now, VCSU Education majors gain teaching experience at various elementary and secondary education schools in the area). The building is named after Margaret McCarthy, Superintendent of the College Training School from 1919 to 1945. "
