The Business Administration/Management Concentration program prepares you in the vast areas of business which may include banking, insurance, retail, manufacturing, government and/or managing your own business. Graduates may also continue their education in MBA programs, law school, or other graduate-level programs. This versatile program includes coursework in accounting, finance, marketing, and management as well as a variety of business technologies. Graduates are prepared for a vast variety of managerial jobs in both the service and manufacturing industries, the government sector, and/or managing one' own business. Also, graduates of the program are strong candidates for graduate studies that may include law school, M.B.A. programs etc.
You are encouraged to earn credits by extending your learning beyond the classroom. For example, several prominent firms in the region offer internship programs that provide supervised business training. Firms such as Bank Forward, John Deere Seeding Group, Gander Mountain, Coca-Cola, Rod Buck, WDAY and Best Buy have had VCSU students in their internship programs. Co-operative research projects with faculty give you first-hand experience with advanced research techniques. Shadow studies allow you to observe managers in daily work routines. You will have the opportunity to also participate in economic development activities such as tours, workshops, fairs and conferences.
