To be admitted to a minor program in Mathematics the student must successfully complete either MATH 103 and 105 with a 2.0 average or better or four years of high school mathematics. Approval of the Mathematics Department is also required. Courses include: Analytical Geometry & Calculus I, II, III, Probability and Statistics, Linear Algebra and Matrices plus 6 hours of electives that are pre-approved by an adviser from the Mathematics Department. Required courses include Introduction to Programming in Java or Introduction to Structured Programming. Other required courses are Analytical Geometry and Calculus I, II, III, Symbolic Logic, College Geometry I, Algebraic Structures and Teaching Secondary School Mathematics.

This minor alone does not completely fulfill the requirements for a university degree. The student must also complete a major and other requirements. If this minor is of particular interest, you may want to pursue the major in Mathematics.
