The Facilities Services Department at Valley City State University (VCSU), consists of custodians, maintenance workers, grounds keepers, power plant workers, security, and administrative personnel. There are twenty eight full-time, two part-time employees, and several student employees in the department. Facilities Services staff provide services around the clock, everyday of the year.
Facilities Services Office (upper left building). The Facilities Services administration and parking office are located here.
Carpenter Shop (upper right building) Located behind McFarland, the carpenter shop was originally the Science Building for the Normal School. VCSU's carpenters create and assemble various projects there.
VCSU Garage (lower left building). Our state fleet vehicles and grounds equipment reside here. During the year, faculty and staff utilize the state fleet to teach courses in other cities, take field trips, or attend seminars/conventions.
Power House (lower right building). This rarely seen building is VCSU's "central nervous system." The powerhouse provides heat to the campus, and relays messages about heating & cooling problems, fire alarms, and security.
