What are the parking impacts on Campus?
  • The MAIN VCSU parking lots along College Street will remain CLOSED until the City finishes Phase I of this project.
  • Temporary parking lots will be open for student and employee use (grass lots next to the gravel North River Lot and the Mill Dam and the gravel lot west of Foss Hall- please reference the map below).
  • The McCarthy/McFarland Alley is a one-way street(please reference the map below).

DO NOT park in other City lots that are NOT marked on the map.  (This includes the parking lot next to the skate park- if you park in this lot you may be subject to a City parking citation).

Allow yourself a little more time to find a parking spot and keep the safety of the students, employees, and campus visitors in mind as you drive through campus.

Will I be able to use the Walk Bridge?
Yes, the Walk Bridge will continue to remain open.

There will also be a walking path along Viking Drive going to the Field House, as well as a walking path along the bridge on 3rd Avenue.

Reference the map below for both “Pedestrian Routes”.

Do I need to buy a parking permit?
If you are planning to park in VCSU Permit Parking lots at any point this academic year, YES, you will need to purchase a permit.

The Parking Office will NOT be enforcing permits in the parking lots until College Street is opened.

Where can I find project information?
You will need to be diligent with checking and reading your emails to stay up-to-date on closures and project happenings.

We will also be posting information on the Facilities Services Construction webpage and the City of Valley City will also have information on their website.
