It is the objective of this office to assist students/parents in seeking out aid to help with goals for a college education within federal guidelines. Within these pages we will outline costs, and include applications for scholarships, tuition waivers and instructions for how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Obtaining a college education is possible but does require planning. It is advised that students consider applying for scholarships early (example: during September or October of their senior year in high school).
If applying for federal aid students must keep in mind that an admission application is required at Valley City State University in order to receive a financial aid package.

Valley City State University participates in many federal programs including Pell Grants, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants, TEACH Grant, Work-study, Perkins Loans and the various Direct Loan programs (including subsidized and unsubsidized).
In addition, many private lenders have established alternative loan programs of particular help to those students eligible for limited federal aid.

Within these pages you will find search links for additional alternative sources of aid, including scholarship search and information on the National Guard program.

In short, if you want an education it should be within your grasp. Feel free to refer questions to myself/assistant. We take pride in our students and in the care and concern shown by the people of Valley City State University. It is with pleasure that we look forward to working with you in helping you make that dream come true.
