Business Development Director

Position Description: The Business and Information Technology Division (BIT) seeks an outgoing, self-motivated individual to serve as Business Development Director.  This innovative position reports to the Chair of the Division of BIT.  The position will promote and enable “real world” experiences in the Division’s undergraduate curriculum.  The director will collaborate with regional businesses to develop and administer internship opportunities; determine employer knowledge and skill requirements, advise the faculty on appropriate response through the curriculum and use of alternative pedagogical or delivery strategies, manage advisory board activities, represent and promote BIT programs to employers and at regional conferences and provide information and services to faculty and students.  Depending on Division needs and time constraints, the Director may teach or serve as a student organization advisor.

 

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelors degree in Business or related area. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with businesses and with academic programs.  Demonstrated computer skills (Microsoft Office).  Valid driver’s license. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge with enterprise software; Teaching, presentation , and/or facilitating experiences.  Relevant work experience in Business and Industry which may include sales or customer services.  Project management experience.
