Valley City State University announces the resignation of head volleyball coach Susan Kolbow, effective Jan. 29.

Kolbow, who coached the Vikings for four seasons, is stepping down for personal and family reasons.

"I am thankful for the opportunities that VCSU has offered me and have truly enjoyed my time here," said Kolbow. "The faculty, staff, and administration have been so supportive and helpful along the way. I have learned a lot about myself and had the chance to work with hardworking, dedicated student-athletes who will go on and shine in their respective paths."

Kolbow joined the Vikings in 2010 after starting her coaching career at MSU-Moorhead. Her 2013 team posted a 13-25 record.

"We appreciate the time and effort Susan put into the Viking volleyball program over the past four seasons," said athletic director Jack Denholm. "Her leadership helped produce several all conference players and NAIA Scholar-Athletes. We wish her the best in the future."
