Baseball: VCSU falls to Concordia-St. Paul

The Viking baseball team dropped a 7-1 game Sunday to Concordia-St. Paul.

Valley City State is now 2-3 on its spring trip to Tucson, Ariz., and is 6-10 overall.

The Vikings led 1-0 Sunday after Jake Rambow drove in VCSU's only run of the game in the third inning. Concordia responded with a single run in the fifth to tie it and then broke the game open with three runs in the sixth and three runs in the ninth.

Valley City managed just four hits in the game, two coming from Anthony Myer and one each by Rambow and Brady Anderson.

Mike Gershman was solid on the mound for VCSU, allowing just four hits in five innings. Viking pitchers allowed just three earned runs, but five Viking errors led to four unearned runs.

Up next: Valley City State takes on Grace University (Neb.) on Monday at 11 a.m. CST.
