Baseball: VCSU loses wild 18-15 contest

The Viking baseball team dropped to 8-15 on the season after losing a wild game Saturday against Bethesda, 18-15.

The two teams combined for 39 hits and 33 runs, and scored in 12 out of the 18 half-innings.

Valley City State scored eight runs in the bottom of the second to build an 8-1 lead. VCSU was up 13-4 after four innings but Bethesda scored five runs in the fifth and sixth runs in the sixth to rally back.

Jakk Rambow went 3-for-7 and drove in four runs to pace the Viking offense. Dan Buehner batted 3-for-4 and drove in three runs. Anthony Necochea added three hits and scored twice, and Brady Anderson drove in two runs on three hits. Cole Honl and Nate Bagby each added a pair of hits.

The Vikings have four games remaining in Arizona, and will play two each on Sunday and Monday.
