The North Dakota University System (NDUS) has officially launched its search for the next president of Valley City State University.

The search has been prompted by the appointment of VCSU President Steven W. Shirley to the presidency of Minot State University, another NDUS institution, effective July 1, 2014.

Margaret Dahlberg, Ph.D., VCSU vice president for academic affairs, was appointed interim president of VCSU by the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education (SBHE) on May 6. She will begin her duties as interim president July 1.

The VCSU Presidential Search Committee is chaired by Kirsten Diederich, SBHE chair. NDUS has retained the services of James McCormick, senior consultant at AGB Search, a national higher education leadership search firm, to assist in the process.

More information about the search can be found at www.vcsu.edu/presidentialsearch. Nominations and applications for the VCSU presidency should be sent electronically (in Word or PDF format) to vcsu@agbsearch. Application deadline for best consideration is Aug. 25, 2014.
