Valley City, ND -- Kory Foss tossed a complete game 3-hit shutout for the Vikings in a game one 2-0 victory. Travis Dressler matched Foss' gem with one of his own in game two as the Marauders gained the split winning 4-0.

With the wind blowing in at the Charlie, runs would be at a premium on Sunday afternoon. The Vikings scored all the runs they need in the third frame. Jeremy Wiebe was hit by a pitch with one out. After Doug Lonski struck out, Casey Huntsinger lined a double over the left fielder's head allowing Wiebe to score all the way from first base.

Bryan Carter's single plated courtesy runner Matt Huonder for the Vikings 2-0 lead.

That would be all the support Foss would need as he faced only 25 Marauders, striking out six and walking just one four his fourth win of the season.

Carter recorded two of the Vikings eight hits in game one.

As good as Foss' game one performance went, Dressler was better in game two. Casey Huntsinger's single and double were the only blemishes on Dressler's ledger. The Bismarck native struck out 8 without allowing a base on balls.

VCSU's Jason Beilke matched him for three innings before the Marauders struck for two in the fourth inning on three hits and two more in the top of the seventh to make the final 4-0.

The split leaves VCSU at 10-8 in the DAC-10 and 14-17 overall. The Vikings JV will host Bismarck State tomorrow at 1:00 pm with the varsity travelling to Northern State on Tuesday.
