The Viking coaching staff selected their players of the week for the Gustavus Adolphus game.
Junior WR Justin Folk was named the offensive player of the game as the Milbank, SD native hauled in 9 passes for 94 yards and one touchdown. Folk's touchdown was the only one of the day for either team and sealed the Vikings opening victory.
Jeremy Payne was named the defensive player of the week. Payne recorded nine tackles including five solos and also recovered a fumble and broke up a pass.
Chad Lueck received recognition for his special teams play on the day. Lueck punted six times for 219 yards including a 63-yarder. Lueck also held for extra points and Shane Ross' 41 yard field goal.
Junior defensive tackle Eric Spooner received the Subway Big Hit award for his hit on the Gusties fourth and short play in Vikings territory.
Juniors Ray Caylor and Jon Rogers were named practice players of the week for their week-long effort and preparation for the home opener.
Freshmen WR Brandon Siverson and LB Ali Larijani were named the practice performers of the week.
