Baseball: Four Vikings Named To All-American Teams

Tom Klapp and Nate Turck were named to the 2003 Daktronics-NAIA Baseball Scholar-Athletes team while Klapp, Aren Nelson and Josh Schriver receive Honorable Mention for the NAIA All-American team.
Klapp, a junior from Elkford, BC was named to the DAC-10 and Region III first team while also being tabbed the team MVP. Klapp went 9-2 on the hill with four saves while leading the Vikings in Home Runs (8) and RBI’s (40). Klapp maintains a 3.91 grade point average in his Chemistry Education major. He is the son of Larry and Donna Klapp.
Turck made an immediate impact on the Viking program after transferring from Waldorf College. Nate started every game for the Vikings at short stop while hitting leadoff. Turck is the son of Steve and Joan Turck, majoring in Biology and looking to attend chiropractic school upon completion of his degree. Turck has maintained a 4.0 average throughout his three years.
Aren Nelson was named to the DAC-10 and Region III first teams while going 7-1 on the season including an impressive 2-0 shutout of the number one seed St. Scholastica in the Regon III tournament. Nelson, a junior, is a Calgary, AB native is the son of Wayne and Laurel Nelson.
Sophomore Josh Schriver lead the Vikings in most offensive categories in 2003 including a .417 batting average. The Glendive, MT native was named to the DAC-10 and Region III first team. Josh is the son of Larry Schriver and Lora Knowles.
