Valley City State University volleyball coach Kari Peterson is pleased to announce the signing of Kelsey Hanson to a letter of intent.

Hanson a 5-7 setter from Willmar, MN is a versatile player who will play many key roles according to Peterson.

"Kelsey will be a great addition to our volleyball program. She will be able to play multiple roles for us and comes from one of the top programs in the state of Minnesota. We are so excited that Kelsey chose to continue her career at Valley City State!"

While at Willmar High School, her team compiled a 60-19 record from Hanson' sophomore season on, including 28-3 season in 2005 which set a Willmar record for most wins.

'Kelsey has grown up in a volleyball family and played for her mom at Willmar High School,' said Peterson 'As a result she is a very knowledgeable player who loves to play the sport. She is a tremendous defensive player who gives 100% every time she steps on the court", Peterson stated.

Hanson, a Minnesota all-state nominee finished with 1,623 assists, 155 aces and 541 digs in her high school career. She was named to the All Central Lakes Conference team in 2004 and 2005 and was also Team Captain and Willmar Co-MVP her senior year.
