Five Valley City State women's basketball players were named to the NAIA Scholar-All American team while one was named honorable mention on the NAIA Division II All-American team.
Darcie Engelby, Loni Hall, Janae Larson, Molly Schultz and Mallory Undlin were the Vikings starting five most of the season. Not only did they get the job done on the court for head coach Jill DeVries, they also performed in the classroom as each one was named to the NAIA Scholar All-American team.
VCSU led the Dakota Athletic Conference women's basketball in NAIA Scholar Athletes and finished tied for 2nd in the country behind Trinity Christian College(IL) for the most scholar athletes on a team.
Hall has also been named honorable mention on the NAIA Division II All-American team.
Hall, a junior from Parshall, ND, averaged 13.9 points and 7.4 rebounds this season and shot 48.4 percent from the field. She also scored her 1,000th point for her career this season.
Earlier this month, Hall was named to the All-DAC first team.
