Months of meetings, phone calls, and emails will finally come to end this Friday night as Valley City State University hosts its 12th Annual Scholarship Auction at the Eagles Club. A true community event that has historically had well over 300 attendees, the combination of social hour, silent auction, and live auction raised over $30,000 last year to recruit students to Valley City State University. During the 2005-2006 academic year the proceeds from the auction have supported 190 VCSU Students in the Century Club and V-500 Scholarship programs.

Organizers this year have worked hard to make a good event even better. 'Dacotah Bank promoting a 'Great Combination' which provides a chance for someone to win $50,000, many unique auction items, the presence of scholarship recipients working at the auction, and the use of technology should create a great atmosphere,' Val Moritz, Director of University Relations stated. Some of the interesting items up for bid include a storage shed, electric fireplace, power tools, a variety of unique dining experiences, portrait packages, bicycles, and Angel Soft bath tissue.

Questions regarding the auction can be directed to Val Moritz at 701-845-7403. Tickets to the event include admission to the fundraiser, buffet dinner, beverages, and a chance for cash door prizes. Social hour and silent auction begin at 5 p.m., buffet from 6-8 p.m., and the live auction begins at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in the VCSU Foundation, at the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse or at the door.
