Senior VCSU libero Kim Bilokreli was named Dakota Athletic Conference's 'The Libero of the Year' for the 2006 season. The Theodore, Sask. native was dominant in her performances anchoring the Viking defense and captaining a relatively young team to a highly successful season.
Bilokreli was honored by the DAC seven of eleven weeks and was honored once as the Region III libero of the week. Further, Kim led the conference in digs per game and was ranked in the top 20 in aces per game. She had 24 matches where she tallied at least 20 digs. Further, she notched 30 or more digs ten times and a staggering 41 digs one time. Bilokreli was also integral in the Vikings offensive games having 929 passes on 971 attempts (95.7%). She accounted for over 33 percent of the Viking first contacts igniting the Viking offense and anchoring their defense. Also, she was the only Viking player to compete in every game the Vikings played in this season.
In her final campaign, Bilokreli became the DAC all-time record holder in digs per game and total digs. She ends her career second in school history in total digs behind Viking great Shelley Cockerill.
