The men's basketball team came up short Saturday afternoon against Cardinal Stritch University (WI) in the third/fourth place game of the Viterbo University Pepsi Invitational in Lacrosse, Wisconsin by a score of 89-79.

Leading the way for the Vikings were Orlando Anderson, Zac Wolff, and Scott Jesser. Anderson scored a game high and season high 21 points hitting a career high five three-pointers. Wolff was second on the team in scoring with 17 points and going 7-8 from the free throw stripe. Jesser tied a career high with 13 points in 15 minutes of play.

The Vikings came out of the gates strong as they led for most of the first half until CSU tied the contest at the 7:03 mark. The Vikings would not lead for the rest of the game. The Vikings trailed by as many as 16 points in the second half, but were able to cut CSU's lead to four on an Orlando Anderson three-pointer late in the second half.

With the loss the Vikings drop to 5-4 overall and Cardinal Stritch improves to 5-2. The Vikings will be back in action this Saturday when the host William Penn University. Tipoff for the men's game will be at 3:00 pm following women's basketball action
