Hayley Bevan, a first baseman/outfielder from Surrey, British Columbia has signed a Dakota Athletic Conference letter of intent to play softball at Valley City State University. Bevan most recently plays with the Surrey Storm '91 club team. In her 2008 campaign, Bevan hit for a .297 batting average with three home runs and a .464 slugging percentage. She was outstanding defensively with a .989 fielding percentage.

Bevan played on the 2005 British Columbia Provincial and National Champion White Rock Renegades '91 softball team. She was also selected to the Top 20 Team British Columbia team in 2007.

An all around athlete, Bevan also is a decorated soccer player, competing in the North American Championships in 2005 and was a member of the 2008 Provincial Soccer Champions. Bevan was also the top scorer on her high school Girls Rugby Provincial team that recently earned a second place finish.
As successful as she is in her athletic careers, Bevan is just as successful in the classroom garnering the Honor Roll every year since 2005. Her parents are Jill and Les Bevan. She will major in Exercise Science while at Valley City State University.

'Signing a player of Hayley's athleticism and ability is a great start to our 2009-2010 recruiting,' said head softball coach Chad Slyter. 'She absolutely oozes athleticism which will translate into success on the softball field defensively, at the plate and on the bases. But more importantly, she is a great person. She is committed to excelling in the classroom. All of those qualities make Hayley a perfect fit for Viking Softball.'
