The VCSU Vikings women's basketball team dropped its third game in a row Friday night at Mount Marty College 43-65. Frigid shooting plagued the Vikes all the entire game as they made just 13 of 62 attempts for 21% during the contest.
The Vikings were down 18-26 after hitting only five field goals in the first half, but the Lancers shot a scorching 62.5% from the field in the second half and 10/20 from beyond the arc in the game to pull away. The Vikings could never find the mark.
Jenna Vrchota lead VCSU in scoring with nine, while Caitlyn Wojahn score eight on 1 of 9 shooting and 5 of 6 from the free throw line. Amanda Brown score six, Jacklyn Mitchell five, while Abby Rittenhouse didn't score a fieldgoal (0/8) and finished with five.
The Vikings travel to Mitchell, SD Saturday to take on Dakota Wesleyan at 5:00 pm.
