Larson picked up Player of the Year, leading the DAC and Nation in Kills/Set 

Valley City--Two VCSU Viking volleyball players won top honors at their position in the post-season Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) awards.

Heidi Larson (Sr., Grand Rapids, MN) won DAC Player of the Year honors, and Amanda Smith (Sr., Burnsville, MN) won Libero of the Year.

Larson was also named to the 1st-team All-DAC squad, while Smith was a second-team selection.

Larson led the nation in kills per set (4.78), and lead the DAC in total kills 517, over 200 better than the next leading player. Her total kill figure was ranked seventh nationally.

[image2]Smith led the DAC was ranked fourth nationally in digs per set (6.5). She also led the DAC in total digs with 700, nearly 300 better than the next best player.
Smith's dominant defensive and passing performance earned her top billing as the league's top libero.
