"This is an exciting time for Viking Athletics," said Dr. Steve Shirley, president of VCSU. "With new athletic programs, important fund-raising initiatives, improvements to our athletic facilities, and recent additions to our athletic staff, the opportunity to hire an Athletic Director who will have a lasting impact has never been greater. Jack's outstanding qualities in athletic leadership and his commitment to academic excellence are both fundamental elements to Viking Athletics. We are very pleased to have Jack join the VCSU Community, and look forward to welcoming Jack and his family to Valley City."

Denholm said, "This is a great opportunity for me, and I am very excited to have been selected for this job. I came away from the interview process tremendously impressed with the people at VCSU and the supporters of Viking Athletics and their commitment to education and athletics. I'm fired up to get there and get started!"
