Vikings Blown Out by Cobbers

Valley City--Nothing went right for the Vikings at Concordia Saturday, leaving the Vikings with plenty of questions heading into the start of conference play.
The Vikings were blasted by the Concordia College Cobbers 42-0 Saturday afternoon at Jake Christiansen Stadium in Moorhead, MN. The Cobbers led 35-0 at half.
Concordia scored three times in the first quarter, while Valley City State suffered breakdowns in their pass coverage and their offensive line.
The Vikings were held to -17 rushing yards, and were outgained 462-133 on the day.
The lone bright spot was Derek Elliot's day catching the football, grabbing five balls fro 72 yards. Tommy Zinke played the second half of the third quarter and all of the fourth, finishing 9-17 for 90 yards.
Cobber quarterback Michael Dunham chiseled the Viking defense apart, finishing 12-16 for 191 yards and three scores.
The Vikings are now 1-1, and open Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) play Saturday at home against South Dakota Mines.
