The Vikings (#16, 7-1) entered the rivalry game against the Jimmies with a DAC championship wrapped up but needing a win to keep their national playoff hopes alive, and they delivered with a dominant 28-9 win at Jamestown College.

The Viking controlled the game owning a 36:40 to 23:20 time of possession advantage and outgaining the Jimmies 450yds to 266yds. AJ Pfiefer ran an astonishing 45 times for 148 yds allowing the Vikings to control the clock and the game. When VCSU was not handing the ball to Pfeifer, Tommy ZInke (JR, Rolla ND) was leading an efficient air attack. Zinke passed for 281 yds on 15-24 and two touchdowns . Zinke distributed the ball to six different receivers led by Nick Schoenecker (SO, Eden Valley MN) who had 5 receptions for 103 yds.
The Viking defense held Jamestown College to just 266 yds of total offense. Jordan Maher led the Vikings with 10 total tackles and added to his team leading sack total (8.5). Maher came into the game ranking 2nd in the nation in sacks per game.
Next up for the Vikings is Mayville State on Saturday at Shelly Ellig Field in Valley City. Game time is 1:00 PM.
