SB: McBride and Shadlock Receive Weekly DAC Honors

McBride was 4-2 and recorded a 0.58 ERA on the week to receive the DAC Pitcher of the Week Award. 

Seniors Katie McBride (Grand Rapids, MN) and Jennifer Shadlock (Brandon, MB) received the Dakota Athletic Conference Pitcher and Player of the Week Awards on Monday.

McBride pitched to a 4-2 record on the week with an outstanding 0.58 Earned Run Average. In six games and 36 innings, McBride surrendered only three earned runs and 24 hits while recording 28 strikeouts to only five walks.

Shadlock, a designated player and outfielder, batted to a tune of a .500 average, hitting 11 for 22 in helping the Vikings to a 5-3 record on the week. In the eight games, Shadlock recorded three doubles, scored nine runs, tallied six RBI, walked four times and was 4 for 5 in stolen base attempts.

With the help of McBride and Shadlock, the Vikings posted a 5-3 record on the week including a 4-2 outing at the Morningside College Tournament. Valley City State University stayed as the number four ranked team in this week's Association of Independent Institutions Conference rankings.
Shadlock was 11-22, hitting for a .500 average to be selected as the DAC Softball Player of the Week.
