Jamestown College outhit the Valley City State University Vikings in the Dakota Athletic Conference opener for both teams to sweep a twin bill by the scores of 8-2 and 6-1.

In game one, the Jimmies dialed long distance three times en route to the win. Jamestown College tagged Viking ace Katie McBride for eight runs, six earned, on twelve hits for the game. McBride uncharacteristically walked three while striking out four in the loss. The Vikings could only put together four hits.

Game two was much of the same as the Jimmies outhit the Vikings seven to four. The Viking defense faltered, committing four crucial errors that allowed four unearned runs against starter Jen Shadlock. In the loss, Shadlock walked three and struck out the same and allowed two earned runs. The normally strong Viking offense was again limited to only four hits in the game.

By dropping the doubleheader the Vikings drop to 0-2 in the DAC and 14-11 overall. Valley City State is scheduled to play at Dickinson State University this Friday and Saturday with games scheduled to begin at 2 and 4 each day.
