The future of Valley City State football team was very well represented in the 2012 North Dakota Shrine Bowl games played Saturday at Fargo Shanley High School. Seven players joining the Vikings in August played in the 11 man game, won 22-13 by the West team, and Trevor Knutson from Maddock High School played for the West in the 9 man game.

Alex Cundiff, WR from Williston, ND caught the game winning touchdown and Seth Leupp added a big reception to set up another TD for the West.

Head Coach Dennis McCulloch stated, "Congratulations to all of the young men playing on Saturday. It is a great game for an even better cause. We are happy these young men had the opportunity to showcase their talents one more time this summer and proud to have the largest number of college players in the game heading to VCSU. We look forward to them to join us on August 8."
