The Valley City State Vikings travel to Jamestown College this weekend for a rivalry match-up against the Jamestown College Jimmies. The Vikings are now 2-1 after a 41-31 win over Dakota State last weekend. The Jimmies moved to 1-3 after a 17-14 OT win against the South Dakota Mines. The annual Paint Bucket Trophy game is set for 1pm at Taylor Stadium in Jamestown. The Vikings lead in the overall series record for the Paint Bucket Trophy with 31 wins to Jamestown Colleges 28.

The Paint Bucket Trophy, symbolic of the rivalry or past years shall be presented to the team emerging victorious in the annual VCSU versus JC football game. The trophy shall have the year and that school's name engraved on the base and remain in the possession of that school until the following year and game when it, as in years to follow, will again be presented to the school emerging victorious. Let it therefore be known that on the twenty-eighth day of October in the nineteen hundred and sixty first year of our Lord, that, with the football game between VCSU and JC, the heretofore described Paint Bucket Series shall commence.
