This past Saturday the 2012-13 Viking Men's Basketball Team played host to their Alumni in the annual pre-season Alumni Basketball game at the W. E. Osmon Fieldhouse.
This Viking Men jumped out to an early lead but former Viking long range bomber, Calvin Kraft, did his best to keep things close, knocking down two deep three-point shots. Despite Kraft's eight first-half points, the Vikings took a 39-26 lead into the locker room at half time.
The beginning of the second half looked to be going the Alumni way, as Tyrone Terry scored the first 4 points of the half for the Alumni. The Viking Men's defense clamped down the rest of the way, allowing just 18 more points to the Alumni.
The Viking offense also started to click, tallying 61 points in the second half. The Alumni couldn't answer the offensive outburst and the Vikings walked away with a convincing 100 to 48 victory.
Following the game both current and former Vikings treated the crowd to a display of dunks and a 3-point shootout. Viking Alumni participating in the evening's events were: Paul Henderson, Tyrone Terry, Ken Terry, Calvin Kraft, Sylvester Walker, Bernardo Marte, and Zac Wolff.
The Vikings, ranked #24 in the NAIA Pre-season Basketball Poll open their season on November 2nd at NAIA Pre-season ranked #7 Northwestern College and November 3rd at #3 Dordt College.
