Vikings at a Glance: The Valley City State University Vikings were ranked #24 in the NAIA Pre-Season National Basketball Poll after finishing last season with a 20-10 record. The Vikings have lived up to that ranking so far as they return from their first two games of the season with a 1-1 record.

Valley City State played back to back top ten opponents as they knocked off #7 Northwestern College (IA) before being defeated by #3 Dordt College (IA) this past weekend.

Sophomore guard AJ McDonald has paced the VCSU in the first game to a tune of 20 PPG and he is followed by returning NAIA All American Sekani Milligen who comes back to the WE Osmon Fieldhouse averaging 16.5 per contest. Seniors Aaron Duske and Gus Kueber lead the Vikings on the boards averaging seven rebounds per game.

The Opponent: NCAA Division II University of Minnesota-Crookston comes to the W. E. Osmon Fieldhouse for their second exhibition game before they begin their regular season. The Golden Eagles are relying on many new faces as they lost their top two scorers from the 2011-2012 squad and don't return a player that averaged double figures last season.

UM-Crookston was dropped by NCAA Division III Gustavus Aldolphus on Friday in their first exhibition of their season by a 70-61 score. The Golden Eagles shot six of nine from beyond the 3-point arc and finished the game 26-54 for 48.1 percent from the field.
