The Valley City State University Viking Women's Basketball team used a constant defensive pressure and an efficient offense to take control early and pull away from Dickinson State University for a convincing 81-58 victory.

Sophomore Kelsey Hunter scored 17 points off the bench to lead the Vikings. Hunter shot seven of eight from the floor to pace the Vikings who shot 53.7% from the floor as a team. Brittany Lehner and Katelyn Ralston combined on 9-16 from the floor to score 12 points each to round out the double digit scorers for Valley City State.

The Vikings offensive efficiency was also apparent as Valley City State racked up 24 assists in the game with Sierra Even leading the way with six.

The offensive onslaught was propelled by a Viking defense that stymied the Blue Hawks for 90 feet. In the game Dickinson State was forced to turn the ball over a total of 28 times and was limited to 36.7% shooting from the floor.

Valley City State moves to 3-1 on the season and will travel to Dickinson over the Thanksgiving break for a two day tournament. The Vikings will face off versus Rocky Mountain College on Friday, November 23 before playing a rematch of today's game with Dickinson State on Saturday the 24th.
