A slow first half hampered the Valley City State University Vikings on the road at Minnesota State University Moorhead on Tuesday night. The Vikings shot only 28.1% in the first half and despite a strong second half, fell by a 79-66 score.

In the second half the Vikings improved to 51.5% from the floor but the Dragons also outshot their first half totals to build a 20 point lead through the midpoint of the second half before holding on for the double digit win.

Sekani Milligen produced over half of Valley City State's offensive output, lighting up the scoreboard for 36 points on the evening. Milligen shot 13-18 from the floor and 8 of 12 from beyond the three point line. The 36 points puts Milligen in the record books as the third highest scoring output for a single game in Vikings history.

The game was an exhibition for the Vikings and does not count on their overall record. The Dragons move to 5-0 on their season.

The Vikings next action will again me on the road as they travel to the University of Minnesota-Morris for a 7:00 PM start on Tuesday, December 4.
