A number of Viking runners traveled to Fremont Nebraska to compete in the Midland University Warrior Half Marathon on Saturday December 1, 2012. This was a qualifying race for the 2013 NAIA National Track & Field Championships for the marathon.

Anna Fuka running in her first ever race farther then 5000m finished 5th in the half marathon with a time of 1:32.12.Coach Frenette 'This is a great accomplishment for Anna as she was recruited to VCSU as a 200m/400m runner. While Anna is not a marathon runner (maybe she is?) her focus is on qualifying for one of the mid distance races for indoors and outdoors from 600m to the mile. This certainly gives her a great foundation in helping her accomplish her goals on the oval this upcoming track season.'

Jose Garcia led the Viking men in running a PR of 1:16.59 in 8th place. He was followed by four of his teammates ,9th Malik Jackson 1:18.44; 10th Kinsly Tarmann 1:19.04 ; 11th Wayne Engelhard 1:19.04 and 15th Eric Schauer 1:29.35 which were also personal record times respectively.
