Touting a five game win streak and sitting idle last week with the exception of an exhibition game on the road, the Valley City State University Women's Basketball team remained at #19 in the NAIA Women's Division II Basketball Poll.
The Vikings, 5-1 at the time of the poll, moved their win streak to six and overall record to 6-1 on the season with a road win on the road Tuesday evening at the University of Minnesota-Morris. Valley City State has not lost a game that counts on their season record since a season opening three point loss on the road at three time defending and then ranked #2 Northwestern College (IA).
Statistically the Vikings rank number three in the NAIA in both Total Rebound Defense (29.167) and Team Field Goal Percentage (50.2%).
Junior Brittany Lehner is ranked number three in the NAIA individually shooting 64.3% from the floor.
Valley City State will play host to Presentation College and Trinity Bible College on Thursday and Friday to round out their home action before returning home after the New Year. Game times both nights are set for 5:30 PM.
