Valley City State University (VCSU) Head Men's Basketball Coach, Jeff Kaminsky, has announced that Austin Rambow, of Willmar High School (MN) has recently signed a Letter of Intent to attend VCSU and join the Viking basketball program for the 2013-2014 season.

Rambow, a 6'5 Forward from Willmar, MN had a very successful junior season for the Willmar Cardinals and looks to build upon that this season. As a junior, Austin was named the Most Improved Player from the previous season and had the numbers to back that up. He was second on his team in scoring, averaging 13.8 points per game and led his team in rebounding, pulling down 7 rebounds per game. For his efforts, Austin was a Central Lakes Conference All-Conference selection.

Steve Grove, Austin's Head Coach at Willmar comments, 'Austin's versatility is his strength. He is able to shoot the three and also is a good enough ball handler to get to the rim or pull up for the mid-range shot. Austin also has the ability to play with his back to the basket.'

Coach Kaminsky adds, 'We are looking forward to having Austin at VCSU. His versatility on both ends of the floor will add a lot to our program. In addition to his scoring and rebounding ability, Austin is a great passer and versatile defender. His character and work ethic make him a success on and off the court.'

Austin's brother, Jake, also recently signed a Letter of Intent to Valley City State. Jake, a sophomore at Ridgewater College in Willmar will join the VCSU Viking Baseball team beginning in the fall of 2013. The Rambow's will be a welcomed addition to Viking Athletics!
