Valley City State University men's basketball team hosted the University of Minnesota – Morris this evening. Although it was close at the break, Vikings up 37-34, the Vikings edged out the Cougars in nearly every category ultimately coming out on top 78-67.

In the second half the Vikings separated from the Cougars, shooting 50% from behind the 3-point line. The Vikings outscored Morris 41 to 33 during the second half.

The Vikings continue to be successful at the free throw line, making 12 of 14 in the second half and shooting 81% from the line on the night. They shot 51.9% from the field, while the Cougars shot 43.5%.

John Raquel earned a double-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists. Aaron Duske put up 13 points and Sekani Milligan had the hot hand finishing with 17 points.

Monday January 7th the Vikings travel to Rapid City, SD to take on the Hardrockers of South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
