The #15 Valley City State University Men's Basketball team beat Oglala Lakota College (SD) on the road in a high scoring contest 92-82.

Senior guard John Raquel and other Vikings stepped up in the absence of leading scorer Sekani Milligen to lead the 15th rated VCSU Vikings over Oglala Lakota College on the road. Raquel dumped in a game high 32 points, including shooting 16-18 from the free throw line to lead the Vikings. Raquel also tallied a game high seven assists.

He was alone however in the effort. Aaron Duske (18), Dillan Ostrom (13) and Christopher Embden (11) all scored in double figures as well. Ostrom also grabbed 14 rebounds to complete the double-double for the game.

Valley City State dominated the boards and the free throw line in route to their 12th victory of the season. VCSU grabbed 49 rebounds and made good on 34 of 43 free throws in the game.

The victory puts the Vikings at 12-4 overall on the season. They continue their road trip at NCAA Division II South Dakota Mines this evening.
