The Mayville State Comets, now 16-1, scored a minor upset over #13 ranked VCSU (now 16-4) by 6 points.

A 9 point second half margin helped the Comets move into the women's championship game on Sunday at 5 pm at the Civic Center in Jamestown.

Marcisa McMillan was a major part of the victory with 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Samantha Heier might have been just as big a part for the Comets with 13 points and 7 assists.

Both teams hit 7 three pointers and 10 free throws, but Mayville outshot VCSU 46% to 36% and outrebounded the Vikings 42-29.

Katelyn Raltson led the Vikings with 17 points, while Brittany Lehner added 12.

Valley City State will play Dakota State, who lost to host team Jamestown College by 20 points, on Sunday at 1 pm at the Jamestown Civic Center.
