VCSU Men's and Women's Track & Field team open up their 2013 Season on the oval at Bemidji State University at the Super 8 Track & Field Invitational.
Darien Moore picks up right where he left off last season and continues to set new standards for both himself and VCSU in the ring. He established new personal bests and school records in both the weight throw and shot put, throwing 19.78m/ 64-10.75'ft and 17.61m/57.9.5'ft respectively. A number of other Viking track & field athletes turn in solid early season performances. Freshman Jessica Meland, a first timer in the weight throw, finished fourth with a toss of 13.83m/45-04.50 ft. to break the school record.
Debuting in his first collegiate track & field meet, freshman Alex Cundiff ended the meet with a good triple jump giving him a fourth place finish, with a jump of 12.27m/40-03.25.
On the oval Junior Philip Reuer had a solid double in finishing fourth and fifth in the 400m (52.46) and 200m (23.60) respectively.
