Katelyn Ralson scored a game high 17 points and led the 25th ranked Valley City State University Viking Women's Basketball team to their 18th victory of the year with a 57-54 win on the road at A.I.I. opponent Dakota State.
The Vikings struggled shooting from the floor, connecting on only 36.5% from the floor in the game and 29.4% in the second half, but a staunch defense in the first half left the Lady T's with too much ground to make up in the second half. Valley City State held the home team to just seven of 28 shooting in the first half for 25%.
Kelsey Hunter returned to her home state to score ten points off the bench to follow Ralston as the only other Viking in double digit scoring.
The win moves the Vikings to 18-4 on the season and 6-2 versus Association for Intercollegiate Institutions conference members.
Valley City State will host rival Jamestown College on Wednesday, January 30th with a tip off time slated for 5:30pm at the W. E. Osmon Fieldhouse.
