The Valley City State University Men's Basketball team beat fellow A.I.I. opponent Dakota State on the road in a game that pitted the number two versus number three ranked A.I.I. teams.

In a game that was an almost statistical stale-mate, the Vikings were a little more efficient on the offensive end of the floor, shooting 46.0% in the game including 44.4% from beyond the three point line.

Meanwhile, the Trojans shot 39.7% from the floor and were held to just 25% from behind the three point line by the Viking defense.

Sekani Milligen scored a game high 17 points and led three Vikings in double figures. Gus Kueber and Dillan Ostrom both scored 13 and 11 points respectively. Kueber also led Valley City State with nine rebounds while point guard John Raquel racked up eight assists in the game.

The Vikings move to 16-5 on the season and will host Oglala Lakota College on Saturday, January 26 at 4:00 pm at the W. E. Osmon Fieldhouse before they return to A.I.I. action on Wednesday, January 30 when they play host to rival Jamestown College.
