With eight points versus Presentation College on January 15th, Alyssa Hummel, a senior forward from West Fargo, ND, eclipsed the 1,000 point mark for her collegiate basketball career.

Hummel, after transferring to Valley City State from Bismarck State College, has averaged 7.7 points per game in a Viking uniform and has played in every game during her VCSU career. Hummel dumped in a Valley City State career high 18 points earlier in the month versus Northern New Mexico College.

Hummel joins fellow senior Katelyn Ralston in the 1,000 point club. Ralston, who transferred from Lake Region State College, scored 18 points versus Johnson and Wales University on January 12th to surpass the career milestone.

In her Viking career, Ralston has averaged 10.2 points per game with the 18 points she scored versus Johnson and Wales being a Valley City State career high.

Hummel and Ralston will lead the Vikings into an A.I.I. battle versus rival Jamestown College on Wednesday at 5:30pm at the W. E. Osmon Fieldhouse.
