Vikings at a Glance: The Valley City State University Men moved back inside the top 20 of the NAIA National Poll this week, coming in at a ranking of 19.
The Vikings were beaten for the second time this season on the floor of rival Jamestown College on Wednesday when the Jimmies pulled off the upset with a 66-65 win in overtime. With the loss, VCSU sits at 19-6 on the season.
Valley City State will finish the 2012-13 regular season with three straight home games starting Saturday versus the Hard Rockers. They will then host rival Mayville State on Wednesday, February 13 before finishing their home stand with Dakota State University on Saturday, February 16.
The Opponent: South Dakota School of Mines and Technology enters Saturday's game with an overall record of 16-7 and have won seven of their last eight games since the beginning of January. During that run, the now NCAA Division II Hard Rockers, have played five of the Association of Independent Institutions teams, all teams that the Vikings are competing against for a national tournament bid.
