The Valley City State University Viking Women erased and early 13-4 deficit to come back and beat the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology 64-58 to earn victory number 20 on the season.

Neither team shot the ball well but the Vikings managed to outshoot their counterpart at the free throw line and controlled the boards to earn a hard fought victory.

In a physical contest that saw a total of 48 fouls called, Valley City State converted 24 of 35 free throws (68.6%) in the game to the Hard Rockers 15-26 (57.7%) shooting from the line while the Vikings out rebounded SD Mines 41-35.

Senior Courtney Titus led the Vikings in scoring knocking down a game high 17 points. Katelyn Ralston finished with 11 to round out the double digit scorers for Valley City State.

With the win the Vikings move to 20-6 on the season and will look to run their win streak to three in a row and try to avenge two earlier season losses to rival Mayville State on Wednesday at the W. E. Osmon Fieldhouse. Game time is slated for 5:30 PM.
