VCSU Men's and Women's Track & Field team stayed close to home for the third week in a row, traveling to NDSU in Fargo, ND on Saturday February 9th. Both teams where left understrength after the cold and flu bug hit them hard.

Freshmen Jessica Meland continued to show steady improvement in the shot put when she set both a personal record and a school record with a toss of 12.33m (40-05.50 ft.) to finish in 11th place.

Junior Summer Romine had her best jump of the season in the high jump to finish 12th with a leap of 1.50m (4-11.00ft)

On the track, Anna Fuka showed improvement, finishing fifth in the 600m with a time of 1:41.03.

Junior Philip Reuer continued to drop his time in the 400m, finishing seventh with a personal record run of 51.15 seconds.

In the 600m, Sophomore Kinsley Tarmann also ran a personal record with a 1:29.72 to finish seventh.

Freshmen Alex Cundiff boosted his numbers in the triple jump, finishing 11th with a jump of 12.73m (41-09.25).

Sophomore Darien Moore continued his quest in the ring as he won both the Weight throw in 20.51m (67-03.50ft) and the shot put in 17.87m (58-07.50). It was the third week in a row that he has broken both the school and his own personal records. Darien also established new stadium records at the Bison Open in the weight throw and shot put. Both performances currently rank him first in the weight throw and third in the shot put in the NAIA National Indoor Track & Field rankings.
