KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Darien Moore of Valley City State (N.D.) has been named NAIA National Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week , the national office announced Wednesday. Moore was selected based on his performances from Feb. 4 - 10.
Moore, a sophomore from Bakersfield, Calif., won both throws on Feb. 9 at the NCAA Division I North Dakota State University Bison Open, as well as established stadium and meet records. He also set a personal and school record with his heave of 17.87 meters (58-7 ½) in the shot put. He is currently ranked first in the NAIA this year in the weight throw with his mark of 20.51 meters (67-3 ½) and third in the shot put.
'Darien has made major strides in the past year with his technical skills and I am not surprised that he is having such a fantastic year.
