Vikings at a Glance: The Valley City State University Vikings extended their win streak to three games in a row by beating #15 ranked Mayville State University at home on Wednesday. The win was the second win in three games versus a top 15 ranked NAIA team in three games with the Vikings having beaten then ranked #13 Jamestown College the week before.

Valley City's State exploded for 85 points versus the Comets, their third highest outburst of the season, having scored 93 and 90, both against Presentation College.

With the Wednesday victory, the Vikings stand with 21 wins on the season. With a win on Saturday and a run during the A.I.I. Tournament next weekend in Jamestown, the women's team could have a chance to break the single season record for wins in a season which was set in the 2010-11 season at 23. That season was the first of two consecutive trips to the NAIA National Tournament for Valley City State.

The Viking Women have officially made the Association of Independent Institutions Conference Tournament being held in Jamestown February 22-24. Six A.I.I. teams will compete for two automatic qualifying national tournament bids for the NAIA National Tournament in Sioux City, IA. The Vikings are looking to make it a third year in a row to the National Tournament.

The Opponent: The Dakota State Lady T's come to Valley City with a 6-19 overall record and are 0-7 on the season versus A.I.I. opponents. Not making next week's A.I.I. Tournament, this will mark the Lady T's last game of the 2012-13 season.

The Lady T's have dropped their last six in a row and nine of ten coming into Saturday's game. Valley City State has defeated Dakota State twice this season with victories by the scores of 71-52 and 57-54.
