The number three seeded Valley City State University Viking women played three games in three days at the Association of Independent Institutions Conference Basketball Tournament, winning their first two games before falling in the championship. Three Vikings were rewarded for the outstanding tournament efforts.

Senior Courtney Titus, Junior Brittany Lehner and Sophomore Sadiqah Jihad were all selected to the A.I.I. All-Tournament team.

Lehner led the Vikings in scoring throughout the tournament averaging 17.67 points per game after scoring 19 and 20 points respectively for Valley City State in the semi-finals and championship games.

Titus average fourteen points per game and scored a career high 24 points on Saturday in the semi-final victory over rival Mayville State University. Titus shot 7-9 from the three point line on her way to her career high night.

Jihad averaged 7.67 points per game while handing out 2.33 assists per game.

The Vikings earned their third straight NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament berth with their record breaking 24th win of the season on Saturday with a victory over Mayville State University.

Valley City State will learn of their seeding and first round opponent of the tournament, held in Sioux City, IA, on Wednesday.
