Valley City State University Viking Football will hold its Team Camps on the VCSU campus next week, June 2-9. The campus will host more than 500 student-athletes and 60 high school coaches from schools in North Dakota, Minnesota and South Dakota.

The Team Camps are in their 10th year, and this year’s camps will be the largest sessions so far. Players attend camp with their teams and high school coaches. They are drilled individually by the VCSU football staff and players, have team time to install and coach their schemes, and compete in controlled scrimmages versus each other.

Scrimmages are open to the public and will take place on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings. One of the camps’ unique competitions—the Overtime Challenge—will take place on both Tuesday and Saturday evenings. At the end of each Overtime Challenge, a team will be crowned the winner and take home the traveling trophy.

“We’re very excited to host these teams for camp,” said Viking Head Coach Dennis McCulloch. “Our coaches and the campus do a great job. Many of these teams have attended multiple times, if not all of the years, we have held the camp. We’re grateful to those coaching staffs for their dedication to their teams and their trust in our staff.”
